You’ve probably noticed that some customers are more valuable to your business than others. And that’s to be expected, as not all clients are necessarily equal. So how do you figure out a method for emailing various groups with information only applicable to those specific customers? After all, you may want to offer different incentives, right?
Neto Customer Groups are a great way to organise and sort customers into unique groups.
In Neto, you can create Customer Groups, and even assign different pricing structures. On most sites, this means having one group of retail customers, and one group of wholesale customers. But with Neto, it can go further: a specific group and price for employees, for loyalty cardholders, for veterans, etc.
It’s likely you won’t want to offer every one of your customers the exact same deal in your email campaigns. While you might offer your most loyal customers a whopping storewide 20% discount, new or infrequent customers might be given a different incentive. Mailchimp For Neto gives you the option of tailoring your email campaigns to fit each customer group.
And establishing different groups in your Neto control panel isn’t too complicated, and definitely worth the added effort. Addons→ Install “Customer User Groups”. (Note: You’ll need to be on Neto’s Medium Plan to do this.)
Once established, Neto Customer Groups are pushed to Mailchimp using tags (labels, used to help organise contacts), allowing you to send segmented emails to individual groups, instead of a bulk email to all your subscribers.
Different pricing structures for different groups is important.
Mailchimp can’t display your Customer Group pricing structure, so instead, it will display your general customer pricing.
To get around this:
- Don’t show pricing of your recommended products
- Encourage each group to sign in to view their unique pricing structure.

Once Mailchimp For Neto has completed syncing your e-commerce data to Mailchimp, you’ll see a new tag appear in your Mailchimp audience:
With Mailchimp For Neto, you can send targeted emails to your pre-established client email groups. Easily send different emails to your customers, suppliers, stockists, corporate clients, or whichever customer group makes the most sense to your online business, with targeted messages for each.
